A 45-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following the discovery of drugs and weapons during a police operation on the west coast of Newfoundland.
The RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West, alongside the Corner Brook RNC, executed a search warrant at a residence on Humber Road around 10 a.m. on Monday. The operation led to the arrest of the woman and the seizure of various items linked to drug trafficking and illegal weapons.
Among the items confiscated were approximately two ounces of prepackaged cocaine, suspected opioids, drug paraphernalia, and other materials indicative of street-level drug sales. Officers also seized a stun gun, which is classified as a prohibited weapon, as well as concealed knives.
The accused appeared in court on Tuesday and is scheduled to return at a later date. She faces charges that include possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and obstruction of a police officer.
Police confirm that the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow as the case develops.
